Your first look at a chart
Three steps: your Life palace, the palaces that support it, and the time you are in.
Start with the Life palace (命宫). Its principal stars describe your basic temperament. If it has none, it borrows the stars of the palace opposite.
Then look at the palaces that support it: the one opposite and the two that form a triangle with it. They show what surrounds and feeds that temperament.
Finally, look at time: which ten-year chapter you are in and where this year’s transformations land. In Astravia, “Your years” does this step for you.
Go deeper
Read slowly and in pairs. A star means something different in each palace, and a palace says little without the palaces around it. One-star verdicts such as “this star is bad” are the most common beginner’s mistake.
